Last weekend was a good one. I sailed, I named, I boarded, I watched all sorts of hilarity around the marina. It can't really get much better than that. Well, the kids could have joined me since it was Father's Day but they had more important things to do (Nana was in town).
Saturday was a short sailing day. I took the El Toro out for some paces. Just for a short bit, but I had my own photographer this day, no need to deal with some mis-placed lady on the sea wall for my photo opps. Check out this U-turn mid-channel:
You can see the wake as I gybed around. The wind wasn't too heavy yet and I didn't have battens in the sail so maybe it's not as X-Games as a 49er or Moth would be but still it's a cool little dinghy.
I also got a really cool shot of me heading out to Sea with the SF skyline in the distance but due to the peculiarities of the El Toro, it looks like I have the tiller stuck up my rear so that photo will never be posted. I'll show this one instead - I'm still not 100% comfortable with publishing it since a friend noted that it looks like I'm in the middle of a particularly difficult bowel movement, but hey at least I'm sailing:
Kids, please notice that even I, super sailor extraordinaire, am wearing a life jacket, don't leave the dock without one.
