Ham It Up....a Broach Story

I'm not making fun of these people...crap happens while sailing. But I am laughing. This is an incredible video of a Capri 25 combining a series of mistakes into a recoverable broach and, unfortunately, a MOB.

Anyway, enjoy the bad crew placement, the tiller being let go, and an obviously overmatched crew in 15-20 knot breezes. What I love is that they posted the video in an obviously self-deprecating manner....might fit into my blog even if I'm pretty sure none of them would be allowed onto PDR.

OMG!
I saw her going over as soon as she let go of everything and started walking on the cablin! DUH!!!!

I think you should take it as a personal challenge to create a video of PDR that goes one "better" than this one. That gizmo that keeps the camera roughly aligned with the horizon should be on your Xmas present list. Go for it.

Yeah, that is a cool gizmo!

Dude. "We'll be right back, Jill!". Not what she was counting on hearing during the days events. Mark Hammett has either elephant size stones or is truly deranged-I get the sense that the posting was done out of pride-it was more of a moby dick-like "we mastered the elements that were out to get us" rather than a "my fat ass crew doesn't know what they're doing and I probably shouldn't be out here".

And you still wonder why I don't rush to go sailing?

Anonymous, and you wonder why I keep trying to get you to do foredeck?!?

I saw this on SA today and started belly laughing at work. I think people were worried about me. I love the guy attempting to spot the MOB...kinda points in the direction then sort of waves and then just stops looking altogether Great stuff.

Ya gotta love it! Get out there and practice your MOBs.
